Who I Am
Aloha! My name is Jamie Muskopf and I am the founder and principal consultant at Jamie Muskopf LLC. I have over 20 years of executive leadership experience in the fields of technology, knowledge management, and innovation. Some of my past roles include serving as the first civilian Knowledge Management Officer and special assistant to the Commander, United States Pacific Fleet, Project Manager at Microsoft Military Affairs, Program Manager at Defense Acquisition University, Senior Consultant at Enterprise Knowledge, and Information Strategist at Nike. I am the lead lecturer for the graduate capstone course in the Master of Science in Information and Knowledge Strategy program at Columbia University in the City of New York.
I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Cultural Anthropology from the University of California at Santa Barbara, a Master of Science in Information Systems from Hawaii Pacific University, and a Master of Science in Information and Knowledge Strategy from Columbia University. Inspired by the work I was fortunate to be a part of at Microsoft, I chose to pursue a Doctor of Social Work at the University of Southern California and earned my doctorate in 2020. While my masters’ work focused on knowledge management, artificial intelligence, and collaboration for innovative teams, my doctoral work focused on social innovation and designing an innovative approach to solving the American Academy of Social Work and Social Welfare sponsored Grand Challenge of Eradicating Social Isolation as it relates to suicide in the military community. My current post-doctoral studies center on Visual Social Work and the planning and production of an interactive documentary designed to build empathy for and change the narrative about military caregivers in the United States.
I am proud to be Kanaka ‘Ōiwi (Native Hawaiian), born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii then Burbank, California. I am blessed to be the spouse of Commander Brad Muskopf, United States Navy, of Belleville, Illinois. For more than a decade we have raised three creative and remarkably resilient children wherever the submarine force has sent us. Our current duty station is Pearl Harbor, Hawaii and we will relocate once again to Port Orchard, Washington in June 2023 where my husband will serve as the Commanding Officer for the USS NEBRASKA (Gold).
